Novel Pastries was created in 2021 by Meghan and Darci Hoehne, mother/daughter partners, as a Home-Based Bakery (under Michigan Cottage Law) in Grand Haven Michigan, In Fall of 2022 we moved into the Incubator Kitchen at the Downtown Market in Grand Rapids. This move is allowing our business to grow while we work on finding the perfect location for a Store Front.

Meghan Hoehne has taken her love for Creative Writing and the Literary Novels she has loved since starting to read and created the idea for NOVEL PASTRIES! A Bakery that utilizes Literary themes for creating innovated pastry ideas. As an aspiring Pastry Chef, Meghan creates amazing Cookies, Cakes, Cupcakes, Breads, and Pastries.
Meghan and Darci also have a passion for Celtic recipes that are a rich part of our Scottish family heritage.

Our journey began in 2019
While pursuing a degree in Creative Writing Meghan decided that what she truly wanted to do was open her own Literary Themed Bakery. This led her to changing career paths to become a Pastry Chef so that she could follow her dreams.
2021
As Meghan began taking more orders for Cakes, Cookies and Cupcakes we decided it was time to become an official Bakery Business. Novel Pastries LLC was formed when Meghan and Darci, Mother and Daughter, decided to partner together to launch the Bakery. Our Business is licensed and our Bakery is insured.
2022
During the summer of 2022 we had great fun selling at the Coopersville Farmers Market and at several Celtic Festivals. Our growth from these events showed us we had outgrown our home kitchen and that we were ready for the next step. . .
In the Fall of 2022 we decided to move our business into an Incubator Kitchen until we find the perfect permenant home for the Bakery! Until that home is found, all of our delicious products will be made at the Downtown Market Kitchen were we will be able to get some great mentorship as we grow our business.
