Welsh Cakes

A Welsh Cake is what you get when you take the soft flakiness of a scone and merge it with a cookie and then Griddle it like a pancake! What you end up with is a caramelized crunchy outside with a soft flakey inside all in a cookie sized cake! Welsh Cakes are traditionally made with dried Currants and either a mixed spice or Mace. These wonderful little Cakes are a Tea time treat in much of the UK. Due to their popularity there are now many varieties of Welsh Cakes
